In September of 2017, a seemingly innocent incident where Hadi’s twin brother playfully threw a book unraveled a profound chapter in our lives. Initially dismissing a black eye as a minor mishap, we soon discovered additional bruises on Hadi’s back. This marked the beginning of an unexpected journey.
After a thorough examination at Fairfax INOVA hospital, the diagnosis was clear –severe aplastic anemia. Our world shifted, and amidst the uncertainties, “Team Watience” emerged.
This loss of a child made us realize how many people have a battle against aplastic anemia, and Hadi faced it with a resilience that inspired everyone around him.
